E - Commerce

salam.1.malaysia.salam.uitm.

The Internet has created a new economic ecosystem, the e-commerce marketplace, and it has become the virtual main street of the world. Providing a quick and convenient way of exchanging goods and services both regionally and globally, e-commerce has boomed. Today, e-commerce has grown into a huge industry with US online retail generating $175B in revenues in 2007, with consumer-driven (B2C) online transactions impacting industries from travel services to consumer electronics, from books and media distribution to sports & fitness. With more than 70% of Americans using the Internet on a daily basis for private and/or business use and the rest of the world also beginning to catch on, e-commerce's global growth curve is not likely to taper off anytime soon. However, the US recession has taken its toll on online sales. Although early 2008 estimates by Forrester Research were very strong with 2008 revenues upwards of $204B (a 17% growth rate), 2008 holiday sales showed the first decrease in the last 7 years. Research by Com Score shows sales declining by 1% for the first 49 days of the holiday season.

Canon 550D review

salam.1.malaysia.salam.uitm
Now, i have my own SLR camera that is Canon 550D. At that time, the price still at RM 3,113. Well, for me it's not a small amount but yet compare to others seam it still consider as 'normal prices'. Really? huh! no lah! I took 3 month to make that money.. so, this is my opinion about the 'baby EOS 7D'

Less than a year after the launch of the EOS Rebel T1i (500D) comes the latest in Canon's hugely popular consumer SLR range, the Rebel T2i (EOS 550D). With the 450D and 500D Canon appeared to be pulling away slightly from the real 'entry level' (a sector driven almost entirely by price), and the EOS 550D - on paper at least - is no exception, outgunning many of the 'upper entry level' and mid range SLRs on the market today in terms of spec. To ensure it doesn't lose out at the price-sensitive DSLR entry point Canon is once again introducing its new flagship Rebel as a 'sister' product to the camera it ostensibly replaces. The EOS 500D (Rebel T1i) will be staying in the range for the rest of 2010 (at, one presumes, a more attractive price point). We would assume that the new model finally spells the end of the line for the current 'bargain' Canon, the venerable Rebel XSi (EOS 450D).

In many respects the EOS 550D is a 'baby EOS 7D'. As well as getting a resolution boost to a class-leading 18 megapixels and a significantly upgraded movie mode (which now offers full HD capture at up to 30 fps, has full manual control and the option to use an external stereo microphone), the EOS 550D gets the 7D's sophisticated new metering system (bringing it a lot closer to similarly positioned Nikon SLRs). It also sports a new widescreen (3:2) LCD panel, has improved button design and finally offers the ability to customize the Auto ISO function.

It's clear Canon has been feeling the heat from the aggressive competition it faces from the numerous feature-laden cameras offered by Nikon, Pentax, Sony and Olympus in this market sector, and has decided to throw down the gauntlet with the most highly-specced Rebel we've ever seen. We'll reserve judgment on whether it's destined to be a class-leader until we've got a final production sample in for review, and I'm sure there's plenty of you interested to see how well it does too. As it stands we've managed to get hold of a pre production sample for a day in order to produce this brief hands-on preview to tide you over

Capture the essence of your subjects

salam.1.malaysia.salam.uitm

Early when I start snapping, I heard photographers talking about capturing the “essence” of their subjects. That’s what I wanted to do. Almost anyone can record a person’s outward appearance with a camera, but the subject’s very essence? To do that, you need to look below the surface, to see the subject with your heart.
First you need to create an environment where you and your clients feel comfortable enough to be yourselves. Start by tapping into the senses. How does your studio look to others? This is your home away from home; would you feel comfortable entertaining your friends here? Is the space welcoming, uncluttered, and pleasantly lit?

face candid

Sound plays a powerful role in creating ambience, and it’s something you can easily control. Soft background music can be more relaxing than utter silence. In the camera room with children, happy music can animate the session with smiles and giggles, and lullabies can slow things down when you’re after tender, sweet expressions.

Smells can have a strong subconscious effect on people’s moods. But be careful not to overdo it. For people with allergies, a bowl of lavender potpourri can have dreadful effects. Go for pleasant natural scents such as cinnamon and peppermint over artificial ones.
Even touch plays a part. Soft quilts and fluffy throws do double duty in our studio. In the camera room, which we keep cooler than the rest of the space, chilly clients enjoy the warmth of a throw between photographs, and the throws themselves can add color, texture and depth to an image.

Senses appeased, the next step is to get in touch with yourself—the real, feeling, loving part of you. Find a quiet moment before the session and calm your mind. Set aside your personal troubles and the things on your to-do list so that you can give your whole self to your client.

So,what is my vision for this session? How can I give them my very best? What can I observe and say about that person, family, couple, bride, child?

By getting in touch with your heart before the session and letting go of your own distractions, you are free to see another’s inner beauty, and that is the key to capturing your subject’s essence.
